nothing new

So many things have changed in the last few months...new jobs, new boyfriends, new residences...i guess we're moving on and becoming adults *yuck*

Nothing new with me...just super-busy with classes and other things that I volunteered to do. I got my thesis back today with Allen's comments...I LOVE how he starts with "great job...really interesting...etc" and then proceeds to give a 3-page bullet-point list of things I need to change.

I am also now officially working with Michael Hogg (I seriously love him!!!), but have not officially broken up with Will. I think we're gonna need to have the break-up talk soon (although I just found out that he's on sabbatical this semester).

ummm...nothing else is going on except that I think I definitely want to teach! I'm TAing Research Methods this semester and it's fabulous! There is actually a cute guy in my lab (although I think it's very inappropriate for me to have a crush on him). Dana has been calling me Mary Kay Letourneau and him Villi Fualaau.

I miss you guys...we need a reunion soon.

Georgia on My Mind....

Hey Ya'll!

So I made it through week 1 (yahoo). I moved into my place, it's cool! it takes me exactly four minutes to get from my condo to my office, and yes I drive. (I have to keep that Cali in me!) I haven't bought furniture yet so I'm been doing a lot of yoga positions until that day comes when I can find a substitute alternative (AKA as a couch), and no my blow up mattress isn't as comfortable as Pam's, but hey at least there's no neighborhood kids coming in and out :)

The cable guy wasn't able to hook up my cable, mainly b/c i think he didn't want to crawl in my attic. I was really mad at comcast on saturday b/c I sat around the house all day when i could have been furniture shopping and they didn't hook up my cable, and they only brought one box. So consequently I'm sitting on the floor right now on my "holiday" waiting for them to come back, when I should be furniture shopping. "where is good customer service when you need it" [although it's Columbus day and I'm technically off, I would like to put in my disclaimer that I do not support this holiday or the fallacy that Columbus discovered America, but hey the government said I couldn't come to work :?]. {Jen, I know these are your ancestors but no exceptions!}

Other than that....life is grand, I love the job, ATL is cool, other than they drive a million MPH. "and I'm not a slow driver"

I wish I could offer some great relationship advice, but that's not really my expertise [i'm eternally single], but when if your relationship ends I am willing to tell you that I never really liked him anyway and give you a list of justifiable conclusions to why it never would have worked.

Nevertheless, I did meet a really cute guy in the gym today but he grunted to much, however he was friendly. (yeah, Imagine that Rashon working out! that's what happens when you read heart disease and stroke prevention stats all day and realize that you meet every risk factor) In the south people speak to you, the other day this guy waved at me and I just looked at him puzzled, j/k I waved back! Oh, and my co-worker always opens the car door and stuff (I'm so not used to southern gentlemen). Okay let me stop rambling......wait that's the purpose of this, right???

P.S. Heart Disease and Stroke are the #1 and #3 leading cause of death.....eat healthy, stay active and go to the doctor. That's what I've learned in week one! More stats to come...........

Continuing the madness

I'm so with Jen on this ship. More signs that you are in the most dysfunctional relationship of your life and why it might be time to break up:

3) If you get back from the gym (sweating your ass off), he calls and asks you why you would rather shower than talk to him, it MIGHT be time to break up.

4) If you're throwing up after another night of partying with your girls, and you're praying to the porcelain god while saying "I'm sorry" because he's mad that you had fun that night and he didn't, it MIGHT be time to break up.

5) If he calls you in the middle of the night to tell you that he slept on his arm (which btw is totally not even remotely has anything to do with you!) and asks you what he should do about it.. and you tell him to roll over, and he gets mad.. it MIGHT be time to break up.

6) If he get mad because you have dinner with your roommate every night, it MIGHT be time to break up.

So, this could be fun...

Considering that some pretty sucky relationships have been ended within the past year or so among us ladies, it might be fun to make a list of obvious red-flags in a relationship that should have told you that things weren't going to work. So, I'll start it off, and I'm encouraging you ladies to post your own "red-flags" whenever you think of them. Of course, ones stemming from personal experience will always be more hilarious... Ready, set, go!

1. If you're not allowed to go to the beach with your friends because your boyfriend claims it's "your thing", it might be time to break up.

2. If you bring your boyfriend to meet your best friend and he sits in the car through the whole "get-to-know-you" lunch you've planned, it might be time to break up.

Get the idea? Good times. I know you ladies have to have some gems, so let 'em rip!

Lazy Sunday

So, I got out of the shower last night and I had a cold. It was the weirdest thing. One minute I was fine the next I literally had to have a kleenex under my nose 24/7. Anyway, so today I'm feeling a lot better, perhaps it will dissappear as soon as it came on. I am currently sitting outside under my portico to avoid the stench that is eminating from my house. Apparently we're having plumbing problems. Everything works fine but an exremely unpleasent odor is permeating the house. My roomate things it might have something to do with septic tank. Joy. I also have to be sparing in my trips back and forth to the house because a lizard has decided to take up residence under our doormatt. Being still slightly ill I don't have the energy to catch him but at the same time I don't want him to scurry into the house when I open the door so I'm doing things very slowly. That's the news from here. I'm wondering what all my non-claremont area friends are up to. How is Atlanta and the Phillipines, for example?

Midnight train to Georgia

hey all,

As some of you might know I was negotiating a position in Atlanta, of which I will Officially accept tomorrow. yeah :)...I will be working at the Center for Disease Control and Prevention in the Division of Heart Disease and Stroke Prevention...I'll be working as a public health analyst, but my position is conducting technical assistance/evaluation capacity building/ training etc...SO yeah, I'm on a midnight train to Georgia...(sing with me).....Actually, I'm getting ready to pack my car back up and drive across country (fun times:/). [thank god I never unpacked that stuff I picked up from your house Pam!]....This is surely a transition I wasn't expecting... so keep me in your prayers as I prepare to quit my current job and transition into a new position...So, what does this mean for you? it means you need to start planning a trip to ATL soon....I'll be starting the new J.O.B oct. 1st....I miss you now, but will miss you even more when I'm on the other side of the country.....(I'm excited about picking up my southern accent again!)....Talk to Ya'll later!

Love Always,

GREAT to be home!

its amazing how much you start to STRONGLY dislike your family after you've been with them for 9 days straight. =P As much as i LOVE my mother, (and for those of you that have met my mother, she is AWESOME) she is still a psycho bitch. her latest drama session was that i left my pillow in her bedroom on accident. GOOD freakin times. =P so to say the least, i do not envy jen on her three week adventure with family.

on another note, i heard you guys played phase 10 AND catchphrase last week. SO jealous! i am so there next game night. okay maybe not next game night because i won't be there this thursday for jessica's housewarming. =( sorry, i'm vegas bound tonight.

hope everyone survived the summer and this damn weather. miss you all!
